Our feathered friends are back in favour. The flu's apparently taken its leave in all but seven northern provinces in Vietnam. The birds can now look forward to being slung on hooks and impaled on metal skewers instead of meeting their maker after a bout of flu or in a mass cull. No doubt they're thrilled!
I do like having birds back in the diet after a couple of months of caution, though!
thanx god for that.....hope it will surface again. The epidemic i meant

Foodcrazee, you do know, don't you, that some people died because of the epidemic, many of them mere children. For you to hope that it will surface again... I don't know... I'm sure it's a typo.

I like eating birds and I don't want to get bird flu so I hope it's gone for good, though I expect not. Maybe the chickens are just back for Tet holiday?

There is no danger whatsoever in eating chicken as long as it is cooked. Even flash frying/ stir frying it makes it totally safe.
The only un-safe thing is actually preparing the chicken...so the decision to take if from the menus wasn't just about its availability it was also about not putting staff in a dangerous position.
